Thermal means heat, so a non-thermal emission would be when something is given out that does not contain heat.
heat core. leak. thermostat. no antifreeze.
Coolant leak, possible heater core. Suggest to have it pressure tested to find leak.
To provide sufficient resistance to electrons so that heat produced will cause thermionic emission.
I would definently think that the cause of heat illness would be, I don't know,...HEAT!maybe. I would definently think that the cause of heat illness would be, I don't know,...HEAT!maybe.
No it will not. Before it hurts the water pump the engine would over heat big time, and the w/ pump would probley still be good.
Boat engines circulate water through a heat exchange with the oil, so that might indicate a leak in the heat exchange coil.

Yes the Switch Hosting (Plastic) can leak due to Heat over the years.. Just replacing the switch can help it a lot..
You have a fuel leak ... probably misting on top of the motor. The fan is picking up the odour. Check it soon...it could cause a fire.
Low coolant due to a leak is a very likely cause.
look for vaccum leak(vaccum control switch, diaphragm valves or vaccum lines).
