All other things being equal, the minimum number of megapixels required is 4, and that will give good postcard-sized snapshots. Anything less is inferior.

The megapixels do not have to do with the quality of the picture. The more megapixels your camera has, the larger you can print a picture. I'm not sure where the 'cutoff' numbers are, but I know that you can print an excellent 8x10 with a 7 MP camera ('cause i have one). I think with a 10MP you can print a 14x16...not sure tho. I tried to be more vague...but I figured you would rather have SOME answer, in case you are shopping.
Whether you mean physical memory or picture quality - in both examples, a digital camera is far superior to a mobile phone.
Canon SLR camera main benefits are that its significantly cheaper than its competitors. Its price range is from 600-1800. It features 18.1 megapixel picture exploding. 5.3 feet per second camera distance.
Try reducing the number of pixels in a picture. There should be a menu setting that allows you to reduce the size of the pictures you take. A small picture will register faster and reduce the blurring. A 1.2 Megapixel photo will still print a good 3 by 5.
What you should look for in a computer camera depends on what the camera will be used for. The higher the megapixel the better quality the picture or video will be.
You should be sure that the camera has a larger amount of megapixel. For instance you can get a LG Rumor touch with the 2.5 megapixel camera and snap normal clear pictures. Or you could get the HTC with 8.0 megapixels that take an HD picture with great crisp and clarity. You should also check to see what type of editing you can do after you take the picture. Good Luck!
Cropping chops off the outside edges of a picture. If you take a high megapixel photo from a large distance with a subject far away, as you crop the picture, the subject will appear closer and larger. eD
