It should, but that depends on the manufacturer and dealership. * Most powertrain warranties define "powertrain" as internally lubricated parts of the engine and transmission.
An oil leak there is probably a valve cover gasket leaking. it would not require head gasket replacment. Try tightning the bolts on the valve cover. If that does not work then replace the valve cover gasket. Yes it could be the head gasket as there are oil passages in the head and i have heard that head gasket on saturns are prone to failure, look around the valve cover for sings of a leak hopfully that's all it is because replacing the head gasket is costly on th 1.9 sohc
I'VE BEEN TOLD A SHORTCUT TO REPLACING THE WATER PUMP IS TO REMOVE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE WATER PUMP WILL COME OUT EASILY. THEN OF COURSE, YOU HAVE THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET AND EXHAUST O-RING GASKET. BUT A LOT CHEAPER THAN REMOVING THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE MOTOR. Try a chiltons manual or www.alldata.com If this is a quad four motor, you may not want to try this at home.
Sounds like the Valve Cover Gasket needs replacing. You need to find out where the oil is coming from first. Clean all the oil off the engine and then start it, and look see where it is leaking. It is probably not the head gasket. Yes, that, but if you remove the Oil Filler Cap, and with the engine running there is considerable air flow coming out of the Valve Cover, then probably you have a bad compression ring on at least one cylinder.....what it does is pressurize the Valve Cover and eventually blows out the gasket....mine does it in the front......leaking oil all down the front of the engine.......a Compression Check would be in order. Sounds like water pump needs replacing The main pulley is near the top of the engine. The water pump is toward the front of the engine. It is possible that water appears to be leaking from this pulley, but there is a manifold gasket right above it. Double check to find exactly where the water is exiting the engine block. My first hunch is a leaking gasket.
The cost of replacing a part is a very general question that unless specified exactly is hard to answer. First, is who is replacing the part? Is the Dealer, an independent repair shop, a junkyard, the guy next door or you doing the replacement. These will all yield different prices. Not to mention that within all of these will be different labor rates and different part price mark ups. Second, what is the quality of the part? Is it a name brand, generic (white box, economy), OEM or used part? All of these will be different. Price will even differ between name brands, sometimes significantly. Thirdly, What is the warranty of the part and who is offering the warranty (the shop the parts house or the manufacturer). Limited Lifetime will have restrictions. Lifetime warranty isn
