Yes. This happened to me on 4/15/2012 in a 2003 Ford Taurus. I had been driving for about 45 minutes into a 2.5 hour trip when the following things stopped working (not all at once), over about a 20 minute timeframe...
1.) Battery light and ABS light on the dashboard came on. Tachometer stopped working (with the engine still running).
2.) Hard and/or uneven shifting from the automatic transmission (about 5 minutes later).
3.) Speedometer stopped working while I was driving (around 10 minutes later).
4.) AC and blower stopped working 5 or 10 minutes later.
5.) Car started to sputter. It stalled about 1 minute later after I pulled it over and put it in park.
I checked the battery while still in the car. It read around 8.5 volts. After removing the battery, it read around 10.5 volts. I put a new battery in and it started right up. It has ran fine since with the new battery.
The problem is probably the alternator. If the alternator fails to keep the battery charged the battery will keep the car running until it can no longer supply voltage to essential systems and the car will stall.
AC runs on the battery. If the car is off and you run the AC, then start the car, it will stall.
if you have a cracked distributor cap then water would get inside it and make your car stall.
yes a bad converter will make car stall
It can. If the battery is dying or the electrical connections are frayed or split, then your car can stall. Take your car to an auto parts store for a diagnosis. Typically, this is a free service. If it needs to be replaced, then the store may be able to do that for you and check your connections.
bad battery
Yes, it can happen.
fuel filter
It means that you have an alternator fitted. An alternator needs an amount of battery voltage to generate electricity. A generator/dynamo will make voltage without a battery being present.
because if you stop immediately then the car will stall.
You would make a car battery comparison by comparing which car battery seems better. You shouldn't keep the old car battery near because you can get it mixed up with the newer ones.
When driving the IAC does not do anything because the car is not at an idle
