Possibly.
If the computer is turning COMPLETELY OFF, as in fans and everything, then it is more likely either a failing Power Supply, a bad or loose power plug or cable, or a bad surge protector/strip.
It can also be caused by a bad power switch, failing motherboard, or a major short (such as the videocard being seated poorly, or defective).
It can also be caused by overloading the Power Supply (PSU). Try disconnecting devices and see if the problem persists.
Very rarely is it the CPU, hard drive or other drives, network card, soundcard.
If it happens while the computer is under load (such as playing a game) it increases the likelyhood the problem is power-related.
Do you get any "Beep codes" when the computer tries to go through the Power On Self Test (POST) when your first turn it on? A single, short beep indicates that the BIOS thinks everything is ok. Some other codes indicate that there are problems. If the computer is truly dead, (no POST beepcode and no text appears when you turn on the power) It could be anything from a bad power supply to a bad CPU or any of a number of other problems.
Your power supply went bad replace it. If it still don't work ur CPU burnt and I'll need a new CPU. And if ur CPU i's a new one that u replaced ur capacitors on ur board piped and u need a new computer. If u get a new power supply make sure u put it At 115v not at 225 v Or alse it won't turn on and u might damage something too
My first guess would be a bad switch.
Could be a bad cable, or a bad graphics card. However, try the simple fix, first. Detach your monitor from the power source and the computer, reattach and then restart the computer. Sometimes the connection to the computer and/or power gets loose, so the computer doesn't "see" it.
If a CPU makes unusual sounds, it is best to close all programs and shut off the computer. If it is a fan problem, cleaning it with canned air may dislodge the problem. HOWEVER, a hard drive that is going bad can also cause a bad grinding noise. The harddrive could fail. So, back up your files, but only turn on the PC until the sound begins and then quickly turn it back off, let it cool for 10-30 minutes and retry.
Radiator fan could be bad, fan relay bad, fuse blown. Also if your ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor is bad the ECM (computer) won't know to tell the fan to turn on.
Turn it on; if it's off, it's gone bad.
Those computer specs are on the low end. Most new PC games would crash on that computer.
Bad PSU, (power supply). Did not install motherboard right in case, and bad ground.
Every time you want to turn the computer off. It is bad to turn your computer off without running the standard shutdown procedures.
No, not unless the CPU also raises above the safe temperature threshold and stays there for an extended period of time. Assuming by 'high' you mean CPU usage % as reported in Task manager or similar.
Simple it will turn over but not start.
