Of course it would! Watch the original film MASH starring Donald Sutherland and the MASH series starring Alan Alda...both were originally aired while the Vietnam War was still going on. Then watch them being interviewed on some Talk Shows about the series...they'll admit to it, "...we all knew MASH was really about Vietnam...but how could you say that with the war still going on..."
Nearly all but Hullahan(?) and Burns are draftees.
When Hullahan(?) says out loud at the dinner table one day, (referring to Alan Alda) "How'd you ever get in the army anyway!?" The Chaplin steps in and says in a low voice to her, "He was drafted!"
In the late 60's & early 70's, the Vietnam War was very much like that depicted in the MASH series.
what would happen if you ignored the military draft, jury duty, paying property taxes or a subponea?
The US military all ready has in place plans for a draft of women if/ when a draft is reintroduced. Women ARE eligible now in the eyes of the government, so they will be drafted.
There hasent been a military draft since the Vietnam war but if they ever reinstated the draft firefighters would not be exempt
The military draft system is rather complex and involves tens of thousands of people throughout the US. If there is no draft, then advertising budgets for recruiting have to be much larger. It would be hard to compare, as the draft is needed when there is a vast need for large numbers of soldiers.
The people of the government tried to military draft me to fight for their country.
Not yet. There is a proposal from the Democrats that would re-instate the draft. As of now there is no draft in the United States.
The military draft. The military draft. And of course, the military draft. If people are NOT involved...they simply do not care. When they received that draft notice in the US Mail...they very suddenly cared!
Draft dodger!
The 13th Amendment guarantees freedom from slavery for all people and has nothing to do with a military draft. The US also does not use a military draft to date.
Yes, WW2 had military draft in Britain, Canada and USA.
The draft could save money
Primarily large nations (used to) have a draft.
