The answer is yes. The United States was pondering a coastal invasion of Japan, which at the time was a heavily fortified army base. The Japanese government did not care about its people and was ready to fight the invading Americans to the death. The projected deaths of American soldiers for this invasion was close to a million. to put that into perspective, about 400,000 Americans ended up dieing in the war all together.
The two atomic bombs dropped were used to send a message to japan that the US had the weapons and was not afraid to use them. They killed approximately 300,000 Japanese citizens and right after they were dropped, japan surrendered and the war was over. Many people believe that decision by Harry Truman to drop the bomb actually saved lives. The war would have lasted much longer and would have been much bloodier if the atomic bomb was not used.
Yes because the Japanese refused to surrender.
yes, because if the americans did not drop the atomic bomb the japenese wouldnt know to stop
The justification for the dropping of the two atomic bombs was to save lives. Without the atomic bombs America would have had to invade Japan and there would have been hundreds of thousands of casualties. If America had invaded Japan then many Americans and Japanese would have died in the urban warfare that would have ensued. The Japanese would have literally fought to the death, and the war would have lasted another year.I believe that the dropping of the atomic bombs saved more lives than were lost in the explosions.yes
no because japan were already loosing
Americans dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima becasue Japan and the US were fighting each other in an all-out war, and American leaders believed that doing this would help to end the war with fewer American casualties that other methods would.
The second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. It was two days after the first one on Hiroshima. It was done to convince the Imperial Japanese army that surrender was their only option. Otherwise they would have fought to the death and millions of Japanese and Americans would have died in the invasion of Japan.
Truman decided that America should drop the Atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima because the physical fighting of the 2 nations would have resulted in a greater loss of life for both Japan and the US.
See related question below. The bombing of Hiroshima was to end the war. It was not about freedom for Americans. If Japan took over America or the Germans had done that the Americans would not have freedom.
yes, or the war would have lasted more than a year longer.
it has to be -day. if it werent for that then world war II would have lasted much longer
yes they did. After the Americans knew that millions of lives would have been lost taking over japan. They sent in a bomber and dropped little boy on Hiroshima.

I think that it was justified because the Americans thought that it would be a quick and easy way to end the war. I also think that it was not justified because the Americans were not thinking about their actions or the people/children that would not die and just sufer for something that they might not of done.

This is actually debated quite frequently. Some say it was from 1910 to 1917, which would be 7 years. Others say it lasted much longer, from 1910 to 1945, which would be 35 years.ANSWER:its usally said to have lasted 10 years. :) hope i help xx
WW2 would have lasted at least a year longer, with corresponding many millions more dead on all sides.
