The drive is formatted for the Mac. You need to take the information off the harddrive, then format it for PC and reload the data.
Im dealing with the exact same issue right now but my question is how to get the PC to view the external harddrive through the network as a volume. I can see the Mac and its contents, but how do I get to the drive? suggestions?
Yes. Keep in mind that most applications will still write data to the Windows Registry, so you can't transfer the drive to another computer and expect the program to function.
Windows 7 Turn off "hide protected operating system files" then you can see the recycle.bin folder and delete it.
Yea just format the harddrive and xp will take over and remove vista
Windows does not store an image unless the picture is actually saved to the harddrive.
It really depends if it is internal or external, with an external, you just plug it in via usb (if you're running XP), but if you have an older version of Windows, you might have to install drivers for a external. With an internal drive, you should just be able to open up tha computer, connect the IDE cables, then you should be ok. Go to the following site for help with an internal drive: http://www.pcmech.com/show/harddrive/43/
In our old computer I put a SEAGATE 500 gig External Hard Drive. The computer was windows XP Is it a working chance to use the external hard drive From The system i first installed it.
Yes you can, when the computer is booting up open the boot menu and choose the external as your boot device, i have a external hard drive with Ubuntu on it and do exactly that, I'm sure it can work with windows.
Windows XP does not "have" a hard drive. The hard drive is a part of the computer, not Windows XP. Windows XP supports only IDE drives natively, although OEMs can also include drivers to support SATA drives.
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management.
Yes - Windows accepts external hardware while it's running without any problems !

You could put the installation file on the external HDD to install it on another computer but then to install it, it would have to be on a local HDD.
