AMMONIA BURNS! common goldfish need huge tanks of 50+ gallons and not even babies should be in a 2.5 gallon tank. They grow to well over a foot. Do daily 50% or more water changes as toxins will build up fast. Buy a 55+ gallon tank, or rehome them. Maybe a local fish store will try to save them. Good luck :)
