89 Vans/trucks had a fuel pump relay,the contacts may be corroded. It may be located in the fuse compartment, as in the pickup. A trip to, or phone call to your Chevy dealer's repair department, and they'll let you know for sure. Clean the contacts, and reinstall it. If you still have the same problem, you may need to replace it. (About $20.00). If that doesn't solve the problem, you may have a faulty fuel pump. They, are not cheap!
