I have a 93 prelude, its the jdm h23a1, but theres a plastic peice under the gas pedal... its simple to remove, one screw on the top, and the bottom... it doesent make a huge difference when you take it off... you can jus floor it more this dude doesnt know what hes talking about clearly, first of all, there is no jdm h23a1 h23a1 is usdm, the only jdm h23 is the h23a which is dohc vtec speed governer is all ecu based in these sitations bro ud need to get somebody to edit your ecu settings or get a s300 and a hondata hookup

You have Honda prelude 2.3 engine but iam going to put a Honda prelude 2.2 f22b engine in will you lose a lot of power and will it take a lot of modification to replace?
i recently had my 1992 prelude si engine spin a rod bearing so the shop i went to put the f22b in place of my old h23a1(2.3) i wasnt told of any mods and the price difference for the smaller was about a thousand dollars cheaper. as for power loss yes it has lost a little pep in its step, you may not notice but i shure did i recomend spending the extra for the 2.3.

There are two types of H23... the h23a is the jdm model of the non-vtec h23, there is also the usdm version also known as the h23a1... anything with digit on engine code is usdm... But it would be absolete to only mention those two. In Japan there is also a h23a which can be known as "blue top" or H23 vtec. Came from the SiR accord in japan.

yes it can. You are actually able to fit the following motors in 91 accord: f22a1, f22a2, f22b2, h22a1, h23a1, and with some work the k24a... Keep in mind you need the matching transmission for the corresponding motor. in reality you can really get any Honda motor any Honda as long as the displacement is close.. A crazy motor swap would be a k20a or k20z.. there would be some work, required, but this isn't bad for 200hp...
