Could be exhaust manifold at the doughnut ring connection. Not sure if a CRV has a spring loaded connection, but if the exhaust system is plugged (cat and / or muffler) the motor exhaust pressure is blowing out the flange ring.
The muffler is probably worn out and should be replaced.
I would suggest you have the transmission fluid & filter changed ASAP. See if that helps.
the reason you here noise from your muffler are because less pressure from your engine is going fast.
You may if the noise level is too high. But that is the least of your worries. A defective muffler may cause your death or at the very least an accident. A muffler with a break or hole in it will allow carbon monoxide to enter the passenger compartment of your vehicle, especially if you are driving with the windows up. Carbon monoxide is odorless and tasteless gas that kills. This will cause you to feel sleepy and will eventually cause you to loose control of your vehicle. Get the muffler replaced ASAP.
This sounds like something loose underneath that rattles only at a certain vibration level while accelerating. I would get underneath the car when cold and see if pushing on the various heat shields or muffler components shows a loose connection. Often times a heat shield can be pushed just a small way towards a muffler pipe and cause this problem.
I experienced poor acceleration in my '95 Chevy blazer, which eventually became so severe that when accelerating, the engine nearly stalled. It turned out that my catalytic converter was disintegrating, and choking off the exhaust so severely that the backpressure was causing engine retardation. I took the vehicle to a muffler shop, where they performed a backpressure test on the exhaust to diagnose the problem. After replacing the catalytic converter, the problem was corrected.
try accelerating slowly. if it doesnt stall, you may have to keep accelerating slowly[until someone else can diagnose tyhe problem]
By installing a new mufler you have changed how the car runs.If the wrong muffler was installed it could mess up the computer until it would not run any moreorThere is a problem with the new muffler or how it is installled.

There are several things that can cause your 2002 Ford Taurus to hesitate when accelerating. A dirty air filter will cause the problem.
Hey ya i have a 1994 grand am and i was having this same problem. What i did what replace the spark plugs. After i did this i took the car and and when i floor it no longer stutters when accelerating.
Even if you can't repair a faulty muffler yourself you can determine if the muffler is actually the problem. One of the first signs of a failing muffler is a change in the sound of your car when it starts and while it is running. The car will sound louder but you might not notice at first. If the muffler is not repaired the sound will definitely get louder and louder. In most towns sound pollution is an offense for which you will be written a ticket. That's only one reason to make sure your muffler gets fixed, and soon.
