You have an 02 MC SS and your service traction control light stays on at first it would come on and go off in 5 minutes. whats the problem is it abs sensor speed censor?

I recently just had that problem on a 2000 MC SS. The service traction system light would come on on the dash only when driving in the rain at first. Eventually it came on right when you started the car. It turned out to be a bad wheel sensor used by both the traction system and ABS system. Honestly, the traction system put on that car is one of the worst ever, I don't bother using it in rain or snow. The ABS however, still needs the wheel sensor to work properly otherwise the computer will disengage the ABS system if the sensors are reading 0 or faulty, so I had it replaced. You need to replace or disassemble the hub to do it, can run about $600 or so if you take it to a mechanic to have it done.

The problem could be that the Electronic Brake Control Module has gone bad. I have a 2001 Grand Prix GTP which the EBCM has gone bad, which in turn has killed my ABS and Traction Control, and has also affected the variable assist steering. As I understand it, the EBCM is tied into all the hydraulic systems in the car, which is why the steering is affected.
Every time I start my 2004 Grand Prix GT a few minutes later a beep goes off and the Service ABS traction control and variable effort steering lights come on. What could be the cause?
(1) You should take it in to get serviced (2) ABS is on (3) Traction control is on (unless it was originally on and you accidentally hit the button then it alerts you it's off) (4) You should take it in to a mechanic or ask a friend.
