Low beams; If you're sure that the bulbs are both OK, you probably have to replace the turn signal/headlight/dimmer/cruise control switch. I had the same problem on my '96 and replacing the switch solved it. I can't quite remember how that plate light works, but I think it's above the plate in that area across the trunk lid that lights up "Pontiac" when the lights are on. I had to remove that piece on mine to get the bulbs out. There are about 4 nuts on the inside of the trunk lid that hold the whole thing in. Take it out, replace the bulbs, put it back in place.
change your wheel hub or control arm
is the trac align light mean
there is a light we dont know what it means
You have to remove the tail light lens cover from inside the trunk- there are about 6 nuts holding it on --the whole cover comes off and bingo there are your lites for the Pontiac emblem that lights up!! There are no lights persay just for the Licence plates on my 96 Sunfire and I assume the same on a 98
You must first remove the trunk door facia. (This is the part with the "Pontiac" lights in it.) Then you can get to the bulb to replace it.
I'm guessing that you want to be able to turn off the daytime running lights on your car. As far as I know, there is no such switch on the Sunfire. The daytime running lights are on whenever the car is running and is in gear.
Some have "fake theft" lights. If the light is blinking red near the radio then it is a fake.
IT probably means that ur day time running lights and head light system is bad somewhere...
You can access the backup light on your Pontiac from the trunk compartment. Remove the backup light cover. Take hold of the backup light connector, push in and turn at the same time. Do the same with the backup lightbulb. Reverse the process to install the new lightbulb.
Answer location of check gauges lightthe check gauges light is on your instrument panel when it comes on it lights up saying check gauges
When my Sunfire had this problem, the cause was a burned out high-beam section of the left headlight. It appears that in the daytime running light mode, the high-beam sections are connected in series and if one burns out, they both go out. (Just like XMAS lights) I found this by turning on the headlights and walking out to the front of the car and looking to see if both lamps were on during both low and high-beam operation. The bulb is easy to replace by removing a couple of screws and removing the entire assembly and from the rear of the lamp housing, simply twist the bulb counter clockwise and out it comes. I decided to replace both the left and right bulbs while I was at it and the package came with two bulbs anyway. Hope this solves your problem. i just bought a 1996 pontaic sunfire for my son the day light running lights wont come on and when i flip it from hi beam to low beam i have no lights can you help me and also how and the heck do you change the licene plate bulb thanks terry crisfieldmd@verizon.net
You have to take the whole light out and replace the bulb. Then make sure the lights are realigned. Its not that hard to do.
