Wil need a bit more info but if the truck is not getting fuel then it could be the in-line filter or an electrical problem being it is an 88 there is a fuel safety shut off switch in the right kick panel or it may be as simple as a fuse is blown or a bad relay.with the truck bloked and in park or e-brake on when you turn the key on but not to the crank you should hear the pump run for a few moments then shut off if you don't hear this then the pump is not working
It means there's a problem which needs to be diagnosed in order to be narrowed down and repaired.
I had a similar problem on a Ford truck and it turned out to be the ignition switch. The truck would start just fine but when I released the ignition key the truck would die. I replaced the switch and problem was gone.
Check the electrical ignition switch on the bottom of the steering column.
What type of truck is this?
It could be the starter in it. It may be weak or need replaced.
You didn't find the problem yet.
check/replace spark plugs and wires
do you have fire at the plug? if not the cap has coil in it and needs replaced
There are a couple of a reasons why a 1994 Ford F150 truck will not start. The truck may have a dead battery or the spark plugs need to be replaced.
I have a 1990 Chevy 1500 truck the brakelight switch is disconnected and it has no connector going to it. I replaced all the bulbs. And still my running lights are in the on position when i turn off the truck. My brake lights are still not working after replacing the lights. I have a RV brake accuator also under the steering column can you help me solve my problem?
Check the temp sensor on the thermostat goose neck. Mine got broken and when the truck warmed up it wouldn't start. Let it get cold and it would. about $25 at a parts store.
It could be anything from the engine to the connectors
