If you are donating blood to a legit blood bank or Red Cross you do not have to pay to donate so you do not need medical insurance to donate your blood. If you see nurses or technicians who see marginal in their efforts to collect blood then you should report them to the head administrator at the blood bank or Red Cross. If the technician scares you then you have the right to stop the process of setting up to donate your blood and see the head administrator right then and there. It is your health you are protecting. Don't be afraid to speak up. They can't hurt you for doing your duty to yourself and other donors.
