It was honest of you to tell the truth but as you say knowing what you did was wrong sometimes you have to pay a price for a mistake you knowingly made. You breached his trust and it is understandable that he is upset. The only thing you can do now is to tell him how you feel and then give him some time and space to think about things. If he still continues to be upset with you this may not have the outcome that you will have hoped for. Good Luck. If you are both willing marriage counselling could help you both to move forward together and get by this.
