First of all, totaly DON`T ASK HIM!! for lots of reasons like:
- if he asks you out, then he`ll put more effort into it as for making it more "romantique"
- guys like to conquer and to win over things, if you give yourself away too easily, he might think you are a slut and say no (unless he`s a perv, and if he is he dosen`t deserve you)
- if he dosent like you or dosen`t want to date you...how will you feel?(its better to keep it a hush crush and keep dreaming than have it shattered by reality, like me 3 mths. ago...)
