I'm searching right now for the actual name for the part, but in my van sometimes when i hit a bump it sounds like somebody hit the front end with a sledge hammer - my friend who is a retired mechanic told me there's a rubber bumper that attaches to the top of the a-frame so that when you hit a bump when the suspension is already compressed it isn't metal hitting metal (the a-frame hitting the frame)...
RE: I have replaced front struts complete ,new sway bar plus bushings tie rod ends ,lower control arms right left. Idid this for a living Ihave been there. I still can not find the source of the problem .
any help will be appreciated
check rack and pinion. sounds like it needs to be replaced.
A arm bushings
not sure sound like it comes from front suspension
what would cause a rubbing noise on drivers side front wheel especially when braking ( I replaced rotor and wheel bearings are good) ?
I would really have to hear the noise, but there are bushings all along the suspension. These could be causing the squeaking noise. I had a similar experience with my 97 after hitting a huge pothole unexpectedly. The noise was best described as old mattress springs.
Definitely the sway bar links. Ford uses plastic for the joints.
Probly needs some shocks
most likely the anti roll bar bushes. It was on mine
The noise from the front tire could be caused by various issues, such as a worn wheel bearing, suspension component, or tire. It's recommended to have a mechanic inspect the tire and associated components to determine the exact cause of the noise. This will help in addressing the issue promptly and ensuring safe driving.
There might be a squeaking noise when driving slow in your 2000 Beetle because your suspension needs to be replaced. The squeaking can also come from the universal joint.
The knocking noise could be one of several things. The wheel bearing, a worn steering or suspension part, or road debris could be causing the noise.
Check your sway bar links.
