You can take your vehicle to any Autozone and they will hook it up to the computer and tell you what your ECM has for an error code. IF the ECM or PCM on the vehicle has the problem replaced. The ECM or PCM needs to be reset. Once reset and if the light comes back on, you did not replace the correct part.
it is located on the front of the engine behind the fan at the lower part of the engine i just had one replaced it is long and round with one wire on it you can miss it
It only has one. It is located in the exaust manifold in front of the engine. Four cylinder that is. If by chance you have a V6, then it would have two, both located in the exhaust maifolds, on the front, and back of the engine.
could be the oxygen sensor. that's what it was on mine.
If your 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity has the V6 engine the oxygen sensor is in the middle of the exhaust manifold nearest the firewall. If you have the 4 cylinder engine the oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold just above the exhaust pipe flange.
Code 13 means you have a bad oxygen sensor
The oxygen sensor is in the rear exhaust manifold. You should be able to see it by looking behind the engine from inside the engine bay.
There are 2. one just after the engine and one after the cat converter.
How do you unplug an oxygen sensor on a 2003 Chevy Cavalier
The upstream O2 sensor is mounted in the ehxaust manifold The downstream O2 sensor is mounted in the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter
If the check engine light is on in a 1997 Cavalier, there can be many different things wrong besides the EGR Valve. There could be bad oxygen sensors, low oil pressure, or even low spark.
There is one before the catalytic converter and one after.
There is one before and one after the catalytic converter.
