I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are asking. Why can't you adopt a cat? Because one of the cats at the shelter has fungus? How does that prevent you from adopting one of the cats that doesn't have the fungus? For that matter, why doesn't the shelter just medicate the cat that has the fungus?

YES, PetsAlive Westchester (formerly known as Elmsford Animal Shelter) IS certainly still a no-kill animal shelter. The name-change is due to the partnership that Elmsford Animal Shelter now has with Pets Alive Middletown, and so Elmsford has taken on Pets Alive's name, but is the Westchester (not the Middletown) location. Both locations remain dedicated to NO-KILL. The Westchester location of PetsAlive has recently begun taking in dogs from the south who were on lists to be euthanized. They are having great success adopting out these dogs. Please fill out an application if you are interested in meeting some of our animals. Note: we no longer accept walk-ins.
