Ok ....Have you changed the thermostat? It could be worn and sticking, thus holding it open also another thought.. new radiator cap. If it is worn out, it cannot help hold the pressure inside the radiator and engine, therfore the fluid(50/50) is dumped out thru the overflow pipe.(My dad was a hotrod engine builder)I have a 1998 blazer and I had to do the same thing.New radiator because the tensioner broke off and ran thru the radiator.New upper and lower hoses. New thermosatat, couldn't figure it our until I looked at the radiator cap. 16lbs new. worked like a charm.

Is the thermostat the problem when my 1998 Pontiac transport overheats and the top radiator hose isn''t getting hot and the heater blows cold air?

It could be the thermostat. Open up the radiator cap when it is hot and see if the water is flowing in the radiator. If it is not then it may be a thermostat.

If the water pump and thermostat have been changed and there are also no leaks in the hoses or radiator and your vehicle still overheats what is the problem?

Golf 4 gti overheats but radiator stays coolwhat could be the problem?

Your thermostat is stuck closed. you will need to replace it. The thermostat controls the circulation through the radiator - when the engine heats up the thermostat is meant to switch circulation from just-engine to engine+radiator. Sounds like this isn't happening.

Car overheats when idle?
