Your 1993 Ford Explorer will not idle all of a sudden what is wrong?

If it runs fine other than the idle could be your idle air control valve or IAC valve.Had this problem with a 98 explorer. M.Cole An engine needs 3 things to run............air flow, fuel flow, and properly timed ignition spark. When did you last replace the spark plugs, the air filter, or have the engine tuned up? A further thing to look at is the fuel pump, for fuel flow pressure, and the fuel filter, which may be clogged with dirt. ---- If it stalls at idle but runs fine if you give it gas you have a vacuum leak or a bad idle control motor.
