How many miles on vehicle--internals may be worn Rings, valve seals/guides etc. What weight oil are you using--may be able to go to a heavier weight
i don't know, but mine has about 130,000 miles runs like new and burns a quart every 2-2500 miles. my friend has a 3.5 with 300,000 miles and his burns oil and still runs great...
Ours takes 5. And Burns about a quart every 3k
No, that's not normal.
Because it's supposed to. A little bit of oil will slip through the rings and be burnt on all engines...about a quart every thousand miles. That you are using a quart every thousand says to me your engine is nice and tight - gas isn't getting past the rings and diluting the oil.
it's normal for these engines, just check the oil every,1,000 miles if it has over 100,000 miles on it. change the oil every 3,000 miles if using regular oil. Its not
It depends on the mileage of your crx, my crx has over 257000 miles and burns through a quart every 300 miles, if you are not having any issues just run 5w30, if you have over 75k miles, then run a high mileage oil of your choice in 5w30, also consider running a high mileage oil filter it has additives that help lubricate the moving parts over time. (I actually switched to super tech 5w30 full synthetic and have slowed down my oil consumption oddly enough, it only uses half a quart every 450 miles now)
Within normal limits
For some reason Porsche said in their manuals that it was normal for 1970'S era 911's to use as much as a quart of oil every 680 miles.
it only has 60,000 miles and is a 5.7 engine with ram air
There are two pints in every quart.
did you check for oil leaks?
There are two pints in every quart.
