Make double, triple sure that the thermostat is the correct heat range and was not installed upside down. Both are pretty common mistakes. Lastly, your water pump could be going bad and not pumping enough coolant to do the job. Try the first two first. I'm betting it's one of those. Also check the bottom of the radiator for a build up of dirt and bugs, etc. along a stripe about 3 inches high.
water pump
flush the system and change thermostat, this should fix problem. I flushed mine and i changed coolant and thermostat,it is now fine.
Hi there, if you have flushed any engine and have changed thermostate there are only two options that are left; (providing that there are no leaks) 1. the thermostat is faulty / 2. your water pump is broken and needs to be replaced
Sounds like thermostat is not opening and needs replacing
I have changed heater core, water pump, thermostat, the fon works well but only blows cold air plus i have flushed the system.
I changed the termostat but still no heat , also flushed the radiator and heater core could i have air in the coolant system, would it do any good to use a flush kit at the heater core hoses.
I did a manual flush on the heater core with water from a hot water tank. I flushed a ton of crap out but did have to end up replacing the water pump.
Bad thermostat maybe?
bad thermostat, bad waterpump, plugged radiator, or the cooling system is filthy and needs flushed out.
If you just flushed the system it has to be burped, take out the bolt at the top of where the hose goes in the intake and fill with fluid. Keep squeezing the hose to get the air out and continue to do this. If that's not your problem then maybe the thermostat is stuck and will have to be changed.
Yes, this sounds like coolant from a cooling system that has been neglected and not flushed and changed regularly. Have the leak fixed, a new thermostat installed, a fresh mix of 50/50 coolant installed, and bleed the system.
Ensure you have the cooling system pressure flushed every two years and just as importantly replace the thermostat every year ( 194 degree )
