yes
On the gear-lever. Just pull it up before shifting it into gear. My girlfriend woke me up because of the same reason. Who drives a car without knowing how to reverse it?? :-D
You may need another transmission if your Ford Explorer will not drive in reverse. The best way to find out is to take it to a local mechanic.
the transmission is smoked needs to be taken out and inspecked or there is a LINKAGE PROBLEM GOOD LUCK JOEY
possible cause : reverse clutches are worn due to age or poor maintenance, need to replace unit or have it rebuilt to resume normal operation
The simple thing to do here is get beneath the transmission and see if the lever arm there is moving to the reverse position - prefereably with the engine not running. It may be a silly milimeter out of adjustment. lol
When a Toyota 4Runner will not move in reverse, it could be that the reverse band in the transmission is broken. Another possibility is a problem with a range selector. Both problems would need the services of a transmission expert because the transmission would have to be pulled.
your transmission is shot, have it repaired before it stops going forward and leaves you stranded somewhere
Thrust drives an aircraft forward.
Convection in the earth's mantle drives the movement of the tectonic plates.
Yours.
thrust
Another problem might be the sun gear drive shell in your auto transmission. GM 4L60 transmissions are notorious for this problem causing a no reverse symptom. this means that you will need some serious work done on your vehicle
