You first need to remove the oil sending unit from engine and put a oil gauge in its place, so you can check oil pressure corectley. This way you can rule out the sending unit as being the problem. ----------------------------------------------------- In my case, it was bad oil filter. before ever thinking to change the oil pump, sensor or gauge, change your oil and filter, best to make it 'flushed' (2 oil change).
Engines need higher fuel pressure to start than they do to run.
engine have spark and fuel pressure and still will not start
it is common for this to be a head gasket but if you do not have oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil i would start with the thermostat. if your engine temp. is higher then normal this would be a good place to start.
You may have some fuel pressure but not enough. Do a pressure test with a fuel pressure test gauge, it should have 41 to 47 psi to properly run the engine. Sorry, But that engine should have 9 to 13 LBS. of fuel pressure. No lower are higher are you will have problems.
Check for proper fuel pressure in the 1997 Talon. The engine appears to be starving for fuel and only has enough pressure to start.
Just start the engine.
an oil light is designed to come on when there is NO oil pressure or LITTLE oil pressure. that said, when your oil light is on before you start your engine there is NO oil pressure to turn it off until you start the engine.
Then stop the engine and have it inspected by a professional.
For most vehicles, the fuel pump only turns on briefly when you try to start the engine. If the engine doesn't start, the pump turns off. You need to test the fuel pressure with the engine running.
Do you have fuel pressure ? It must have 9 to 13 LBS. No higher or lower are you will have starting and running problems.
If the engine is running, you will destroy the starter and possibly the flywheel/pressure plate.
I have no number on panel when icon checks oil pressure . please guide me what is problem
