Your 86 corvette Corvette sHow is 11.8 volts when key is turned on the battery is fully charged at 13.5 volts when you start the car it stays at 11.8 or lower what could be the problem?

alternator is bad........ my best guess.... or your battery is surface charging and cant take a load....... go to an autoparts store like advance or autozone n have them check the charging system and battery.

They are compatible. the only problem you may have is the shifter. If the corvette does not have overdrive on the shifter you won't be able to get the car in first gear.
