I just had this problem on a Jeep and it is either the idle is too low or the altinator is bad
check your battery, maybe it's time to replace it
I would first have the battery checked. It sounds like a weak battery. It could also be the computer. In fact, there are a number of possibilities but the first thing I would check would be the battery.
You need to have the transmission computer checked for codes to know possible causes.
I have a 1998 Chevy 1500 conversion van. sometimes the van wont start when its cold and i just have lights. I had the battery checked and it is good. what do you suggest?
Any time you disconnect the battery the computer automatically reboots,
When I turn my AC on sometimes they come on and sometimes dont, causing it to overheat. I checked the fans by hotwiring from the battery and they turned on everytime.
Have you had the Battery checked to see if its still good ? Sometimes just one cell in the battery drops out of the circuit and you have to dice the battery and get a new one. Cheers.
Check your battery. And have your alternator checked. Most auto parts stores will do it for free.
The battery light comes on when the alternator is either over or under charging. If the alternator tested good you have a wiring or computer problem. The engine computer is the voltage regulator.
The only thing this will do is to rest the computer. Problem doesn't exist in starting or charging system, have computer checked.

have the alternator and the battery checked
