Thermostat stuck closed? Low coolant level? Radiator plugged or dirty? Water pump not working? Cooling fan not working? Defective radiator cap?
Check to see if the engine coolant is full. Check to make sure that the engine is not running hot. The coolant circulates through the heater core, and if its not cooling the radiator it will not be able circulate to heat the vehicle
you have a leak in your heater core or heater hose that is under the dash. If you cant get it repaired right away you can plug both hoses running into the cab
The thermostat opens and closes to keep the engine running at the optimum temperature range. A properly operating thermostat also keep the engine coolant hat enough to heat the passenger compartment in wintertime.
possibly air intake filter, and check radiator water and coolant if it is dirty drain flush and clean the radiator and put in new coolant.
If your radiator is completely full of coolant (check first), then on the passenger side there is a white box with a black cap that sits right behind the battery. That is your coolant reservoir. Any additional coolant would be filled into that reservoir. Also you should know what coolant your vehicle has running in it. GM uses their own special coolant known as DEXCOOL which is a long life coolant. Mixing DEXCOOL with any other coolant reduces it's life and cooling effeciency. So be sure to match what coolant you already have and you'll be alright.
Check the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment and see if it is down - that will turn on the light
cracked head
Anything below 240.
yes, should never add coolant to cold engine
Do you mean P0125 ? Insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control The causes could be : low engine coolant level leaking or stuck open thermostat malfunctioning ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor Have you noticed your engine temperature gauge running cooler ? If so it is most likely the thermostat sticking open
The heat is not working because you are very low on coolant, probably because of the leak. Seems to me that it should leak worse when it is running, so I am going to assume you are talking about the coolant overflowing the reservoir, in which case goes back to you being low on coolant and the engine boiling the coolant.
My car is is running hot and smoking... i discovered the coolant was low i added new coolant and its pouring out the bottom of my car My car is is running hot and smoking... i discovered the coolant was low i added new coolant and its pouring out the bottom of my car
