If the center light is working but the two conventional brake lights are not, obviously the switch is fine. Do the turn signals work? If the turn signals are working but the brake lights do not, it's probably a turn signal switch problem. The turn signal switch turns off the brake light on the side that's supposed to be flashing, letting the turn signal take over that bulb. If the bulb works when the turn signal is on, you've tested the bulb and the wiring, so the only thing that's left is the turn signal switch.

On the other hand, if the turn signal ISN't working, it can still be the switch, but you'd better also check the bulb, electrical connectors and bulb sockets.

Most likely the sockets. Remove the silver wire c-clamp connecting the white bulb socket and black wire harness connector. Pull apart. Check contacts for corrosion, they may need to be cleaned or replaced. Rear bulb sockets cost $20.00 to $40.00 ea.! If your cheap like me, take a pair or needle nose pliers, bend the poles in the socket to achieve a snug fit. Your good too go.
