The O/D light flashing means the TCU (TRansmission control Unit) has a fault. Start by resetting everything (pull ECU fuse or disconnect battery) and then you need to retrieve the trouble codes stored in the ECU/TCU (Engine Control unit/TCU). Since normally the TCU will not give you a no-start condition, I would suspect something like the neutral-safety switch or the shift-position switch has gone bad. Try to start it in neutral...and try moving the shifter briskly through the gears. Any recent soda spills into the shifter???

What would cause the overdrive light to flash on a 1999 ford windstar when you are doing about 55 miles per hour?

The light will flash if the vehicle senses that you should be in overdrive (based on speed) but aren't. There should be a button on the end of your gearshift lever to turn overdrive back on. The only time you should turn that off is, for example, if you are pulling a trailer in the mountains. Turn OD back on and the light will stop flashing. If it doesn't stop then there is a problem with the transmission going into overdrive.

Accord d4 light flashing?

The D4 light on a Honda Accord is the symbol for the 'check transmission' light. This light appears when the computer senses something wrong in the drivetrain. The computer should be diagnosed at a proper repair shop in order to source out what exactly is causing the problem.
