First find out whats wrong with it sometimes it only requires putting the smoke back into an inexpensive part to get it working again. I don't know just what kind of an answer that was above. It sounds like your motor is fired. Have the motor replaced with an energy efficient motor by a qualified pool tech. There is good reason for the above statement.
