its normal, last guy was a jerk. the best thing to do is upper arm exercizes. if ur arms aren't "in shape" then it will tkae a while (my arms looked fine but i didn't use the muscles) so it took about 2-3 months and I'm just now getting some atractive muscle definition. using dumbells, freeweights (hold them out to the side till ur arms are going to break. then rest for a few secs and hold them out front, ect), and gym machines are good too =)
