Yeah it's cruel, especially if the cat was always outside before this. Get him neutered if you're afraid he will run away

Is a calico cat a good first pet?

We adopted a wild stray calico has an indoor cat around a year ago. We had been feeding her for about three years before 'officially' adopting her and taking her for shots and such. She is very well behaved and while it took some time for her to adjust to being an indoor kitty she has become a very affectionate part of the family. Our vet commented on how well behaved she was for a calico which kind of surprised me. I had not heard they had a reputation of being more aggressive than other breeds until then.I can only speak for our calico but she's a darling. She can get a little rough if you go past her tolerance point but even then she will give you a swat without her claws extended or a nip on the hand that's not hard enough to break the skin but that is any animal.I've owned and raised many cats over the years and I can honestly say that our calico is no different than any of the others (personality aside of course). Judge the kitty on her personality and you can't go wrong.Answer Answer:New person's opinion; have actually never had a calico as a pet but for cats in general I think they are very good first pets because they are easy to take care of if they are not to. young - at least a year old. For the most part, you just need to feed them and if they are an indoor cat, then buy a litter box, and someone needs to responsible enough to empty the litter box but if they are an indoor/outdoor cat, like mine, then you should try and train them to "go" outside, unless you live in a apartment. The last thing you need to have if your planning on buying a cat, depending on the cat, at least all cats need love, people in the house that know how to play nicely with a cat and not to play too rough.

Calico kitten what should you breed her with to most likely get another calico out of her litter?

If I understand the question correctly, you have a calico female that you want to produce another calico? The best suited tom would be black and white, preferably with lots of white. The result is around half of the female offspring will be calico, half black and white, with a slight chance of one having brown in its coat. Alternatively you can use a ginger and white tom, with half of the females being ginger and white, although there is a greater chance of the other half being tortoiseshell-tabbies or brown, ginger and white.

How small are calico kittens?

The name calico refers to the cats being tri coloured white, brown, caramel or black and not the actual breed of cat. I have fosterd several calico females over the years and sizes depend on what breeding linage her parents come from . I dont think male cats are calico its usual for kittens to be female. So are torties they are female allso

Is BLEACHED calico Eco friendly?

Bleached calico is said to be eco-friendly. However, as long as there are chemicals being used, there is no way it can be eco-friendly. This might just be a marketing gimmick since everyone is going green.

Does a cat live outside or inside longer?

Indoor cats usually live longer than outdoor cats because outside cats are able to get more diseases, rabies, or hurt/killed by another animal. Indoor cats are less likely to get diseases or get rabies, which is why it is incredibly important to vaccinate your cat when required, especially when it is allowed to be outside. Outdoor cats are also at risk of being hit by cars. A cat cannot outrun a car, and such incidents are very common.
