Well, this sounds like a bad oil pump, or just about anything that has to do with the normal operation of your transmission, as it is a somewhat complicated hydraulic pump, the valve body being the "brains", in which it sends fluid at different pressures to the operating system's of the trans, "clutches in, gear changing, clutches out", Park works because it is just a notch that catches and locks the trans in place, keeping it from operating, or just rolling.
need to have it looked at by a specialist.
Will it run in park? What about neutral? Is it fuel injected? Have you changed the fuel filter?
its complicated. on most vehicles it will not start in any other gear besides park. so your gear linkage is incorrect
I have a 95 Lumina 3.1 and it would cut out of gear when I would stop, it turned out to be the sprag gear in the transmission. $$$$
Most likely a broken gear cluster
Mine did too.. The dealership told me to put the key in the ignition click it once and the gear move the gear shift to neutral and it will start..it did and does..
my 94 Toyota corolla will not go into any gears .
Check for any obstructions in the linkage.
if you mean it wont go into gear and it grinds like a sob but other gears still work synchronizers. if you mean the shifter is loose an cant find the gear anymore - linkage. if it wont go into any gear sounds like a clutch problem
It keeps the car/truck from starting in any gear except park & neutral
most likely the clutch & pressure plate is shot.
You have to step on the brake pedal to shift to any gear from "Park"
Mostly fishing gear gets into the ocean by people and not really any other way. Or maybe it gets in by a strong, pulling fishand a very weak fisherman.
