Maybe you need to take your dog to another Veterinarian for another opinion. What did your first Vet say was the reason? Dogs can have Allergies to many things. A Vet can test him or her for what type of allergies your dog may have but it is expensive.
Fleas are the most common thing to cause skin allergies. A poor brand of dog food or a poor diet can also cause food allergies. Make sure your dog is on a good name dog food that does not have wheat or corn in it. Check the ingredients in your dog food. I recommend Innova or Natural Choice. Don't get any food that says "by products" on it such as chicken "by products. You want to see the word "meal" such as chicken meal or lamb meal or Turkey. You don't want to see wheat, corn, soy, etc in the ingredients.
As far as fleas go, it only takes one flea to jump on your dog and bite him or her to set off an allergic reaction in the skin if the dog is allergic to fleas. Use the once a month flea & tick preventative, Front Line or Advantix. You just put them on topically, right on the skin but you have to do this once a month. It will repel and kill all fleas and ticks. Your Vet may want to add some cortisone to this to reduce the inflammation set up in the skin with drugs such as Predisone but not for a long period. So get that flea prevention going and make sure you are feeding a good name brand dog food. Not the cheap kind found in the grocery stores.
No.
Tesco clear and confident anti-dandruff shampoo for sensitive scalps
Use an appropriate medicated shampoo.
Wash your hair with a medicated shampoo, such as head and shoulders. Always read the label.
Perhaps the shampoo is not quite strong enough to kill all of the fungus. Maybe try some medicated powder and an oatmeal bath.
Medicated shampoo designed just for getting rid of the nasty little buggers would be my first recommendation.
You will die a horrible painful death, don't do it.
No. The itching is the by product of the lice. You need to go to the drug store and by a shampoo just for killing lice. You will have to use it several times before you get them all.
Rosemary and Fennel are the listed ingredients in KMS HeadRemedy Dandruff shampoo which are claimed to help with itching and flaking, and serve to fight bacteria too. KMS is a gentle shampoo for all hair types.
Yes you can use human shampoo on a horse. A lot of people prefer it to horse shampoo, 1 because its cheamper, and 2 it smells nice. Just be sure to RINSE RINSE RINSE! any leftover suds can cause irritation to the skin.
Mild cases often benefit from medicated shampoo designed to treat the scalp and ease itching. Ingredients to look for in OTC medicated shampoos include salicylic acid and tar. If it is infected you will probably need antibiotics.
There are several possible reasons. Sometimes, wigs are made with materials that are heavy or uncomfortable when worn for a long period of time; wigs made with synthetic hair and lighter materials, as well as wigs that are capless, tend to cause less itching, since they offer more ventilation (allowing air to get in, which lets your skin breathe). Also, your scalp may be irritated; this is easily treated by applying some zinc lotion once or twice a week; or apply a few drops of witch hazel daily (use a cotton ball to apply it). Also, if you have dandruff, that could cause itching too, so use a medicated shampoo when washing your scalp.
