It depends on whether you trust the wholly as a friend or not if you don't then stay with your story but if you do then explain that at that certain point in your life things werent brilliant and that was how you dealt with it they shouldn't judge you for it. I used too but everyone in my life knew what had happened so i never had to cover it up but the fact your over it now and are getting on with your life is proof enough the fantastically brave person you are. If you can do that then talking to your friend should be a dodle

Just let me tell you from experience, please don'tdo it.Anyway, the side effects of self harm are varied compared to what kind of self harm you are partaking in.Generally side effects can be bruises/cuts which can be hard to hide.In the long run deep cuts leave scars which are sometimes hard to hide.Self harm also ruins your body, therefore making you less confident. For example even going to a beach could get ruined because you don't generally want people to see your scars/cuts/bruises.

Having the hand rested only on your wrist, is no natural position for the hand. Altough this is not a problem for people that are rarely using the PC it can do harm to excessive user or people who are forced to work with the PC. A gel mouse mat will rise your wrist and rest it on a soft surface. The rise of your wrist will bring it in a more natural position which will do less harm even when excessively using the mouse.
scars hardly have hair growing on them, however, im sure that if the scar was almost healed completely then there should be no harm.
