The fuel gauge sensor is attached to the fuel pump inside the gas tank. If you want to fix it, you might as well change the fuel pump while you have the gas tank down, or you can do what I do, change the odometer to 0.00 when you fill up. I can go 350-365 miles on a tank (about 17 mpg). Another common cause for a fuel gauge not to work is a bad "Anti-slosh module". This is a small circuit board (1.5" x 1.5") that is located on the back of the instrument cluster. The solder connections on the board tend to crack and cause the fuel gauge to be inoperable. Can be easily fixed with a soldering iron (usually) or replaced with another board.
Crankshaft Sensor Location 1995 aerostar 3.0 l videos
Change the speed sensor.
The 1997 Ford Aerostar oxygen sensor is screwed into the exhaust pipe. It is about even with the rear of the oil pan.
It appears that the Ford Aerostar with 3.0 engine does not have a crank position sensor, but the 4.0 engine does have one.
witch one did you change the one in the dash or on top of the rearend
It depends. If the sensor is working, just reset the computer. Otherwise you have to change the sensor.
The speed sensor is located on the top side of the rear end housing.
Apparently it is at the back of the engine(under doghouse). I haven't done mine yet!!

On the 1995 ford Aerostar, the speed sensor is located on top of the differential. It is a magnetic style, mounted close to the input shaft.
