No the fur is genetic and can affect their personality at all.
yes
If your gerbil is healthy it will have soft shiny fur, bright eyes and a clean nose.
Yes
If they are losing fur it is most likely do to mites.
Flying squirrels. Gerbil
gerbil
Not usually but it is known. They start off bald when born, and can possibly shed for summer, but just a few hairs, if they sweat it will only look like they're losing hair but it's simply wet. Otherwise, you should take your gerbil to the vet. It may be because of stress if your gerbil is losing hair. If you have any other pets then you may want to keep them out of the room the gerbil is in, check their bars to see if it is wearing down (so the gerbil is just rubbing it self against the bar, as this will cause a few hairs to fall out)
No My gerbil Neve just the fur grows back in
no a gerbal cant die without fur on its tale
I would take him out a few hours after birth, because he will eat the babies if there is something wrong with them, lack of protein, or if he feels stressed. But once the pinkies are to big to be eaten and have grown some fur, you can put him back in. You should also split the pinkies up before they are six weeks old, because all the females will probably become pregnant.
