Virtually all commercial finish carpentry installations are done with construction adhesive combined with finish nails at angles into the sheetrock. As a last resort, or if the trim is very heavy or often leaned on, drill holes using a bit for metal. Then use screws for metal to hold the trim in place.

Why was the long bow such an effective weapon against knights on horseback?

Arrows and bullets are projectiles. Both function on the principle of velocity. Both can penetrate obstacles; that's what they were designed to do. Armor worn by knights was designed to ward off blows powered by men's hands/arms. Velocity & projectile content (what it's made of) will penetrate almost anything known to man.

How expensive is it to use a nuclear powered air craft carrier compared to using an air strip offered by a host nation?

A nuclear aircraft carrier offers more than just a place to park planes; it is a virtual city which can be relocated thousands of miles on short notice without any new construction of facilities. An air strip offered by a host nation would generally not have the facilities necessary to fully support the operations of the air wing plus the medical and maintenance requirements of the personnel and equipment, requiring construction to meet the needs. In addition, security must be considered, often in a hostile area. While a nuclear aircraft carrier is an expensive tool, the value it provides can't be measured in simple dollars.
