How much lower? If you've got more than 15 psi, you've got a great engine in that thing.
Should be at least 10 at idle. 25 at idle would be better.
Minimum spec at a warm idle is about 12psi. Normal is about 30 at idle. Should go 40-60 at 3000 rpm.
Answercoolant temp sensor reading wrong to engine control unit, idle air control motor, vacuum leak, or problem w/airmass sensor. Should be a check engine light on, if so have the codes read, they will help determine the cause of the idle problem.
If your oil pressure is remaining that high, I suggest having it checked with a manual pressure guage to see if the reading is accurate. It sounds to me as if you might have a bad oil sending unit. After checking it manually you may be pleasantly surprised to find that a new oil pressure sending unit will solve your problem. good luck.
Idle air controllers are held on by two screws on one side of the EGR block. Remove the two screws, discard and replace the gasket and reattach. Should take about 10 minutes.
The 1998 Blazer could have several problems causing rough idle. Check the air filter, fuel pressure, and EGR valve for a clog to look for the problem.
The idle is automatic. If the speed is not corect then you have to fix the problem with the idle motor.
Clean EGR valve, maybe stuck open with carbon
No less then 9 LBS. at idle. And no more then 13 LBS. at 1500 RPMs.
That vehicle is throttle body fuel injected, there is no choke or idle adjustments. You have other issues such as a large vacuum leak causing your idle problem.
If your 1997 GMC 5.7L Vortec has a misfire at an idle but not while under throttle, the problem is likely the timing. This can be adjusted.
Where is the idle speed motor located at on a 1995 chevy blazer?
There are several things that can cause your 1997 Kia engine to idle too high. The most common cause is a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator.
key on engine not running 58-64 psi engine running at idle pressure should drop by 3-10 psi
Should be around 25-30 psi. 15-20 at idle speed in drive.
It's likely the fuel pressure regulator. I had a Chevy Corsica with the same problem and it was solved by replacing the regulator.
Check the motor mounts.
