It depends. If he has a congested nose or runny nose, there's a more likely chance its drainage. But if he has been feeling very tired, that's a sign of strep. Check his tonsels with a flashlight, if they are really red and if you see white patches or streaks of pus, it is most likely strep. You should see your doctor. I hope he gets better! I hate strep!

Well, I haven't had my tonsils out, yet, but I will soon and my nose and throat doctor said that for about 1-2 weeks you will have a bad sore throat and probably not be able to speak either. The best thing to do is eat lots of mushy food or things that wont hurt the throat. So, yes... getting your tonsils out will change your voice for a while, but not forever....
My throat is swollen as well as my tonsils so it may be a sign of strep throat or needing of removal of the tonsils.
