If both the dashlights and the rear parking lights were not working try this.

Your problem may be with any or all of these three items: The fuse, brake switch or bulbs in the brake lights.
It depends on the exact problem. If it's that both brake lights in the back do not work and the middle one works, it could be your turn signal switch.
TRY TURNING THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND OFF A COUPLE TIMES THEN CHECK YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS. WORKED FOR ME.
Check sockets and grounds
Its the steering colum
brake light switch, it is typically located above the brake pedal somewhere on the brake pedal arm

Yes they indeed have brake lights...
Above the brake pedal. If your main brake lights dont work but your third center brake light does, then the brake light switch is not the problem. Its is the turn signal switch.
Its most likely the brake switch. Its a plunger like switch on the brake pedal. Its pretty easy and cheap to change.
It's the turn signal switch which is the culprit.
Remove the tire and wheel from your 1994 Chevy Lumina. Remove the brake spring and the break caliper. The brake pads will come off. Reverse the process to install the new brake pads.

You've got something wrong with your wiring, causing current to jump from the indicator circuit over into the brake light circuit.
If emergency brake is on 1 click it turns daytime running lights off. Pull out on emergency brake handle and see if this fixes the problem.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs, check the brake light switch, in that order.
