You would and should ask your doctor. Every case is different and people react differently from each other. Cancer behaves differently also. The doctor should have given you some idea, if not, ask him for his best guess, that's all it is, a guess.

Difference between right sided and left sided colon cancer?

Right sided colon cancer takes place in the ascending and transverse colon, as left sided colon cancer is found in the descending and sigmoid colon. Right sided colon cancer is associated with more advanced disease when found and can spread more readily to LNs or peritoneal carcinomatosis. These tumors show more K-RAS mutations and microsatellite instability. Overall survival is lower in right sided colon cancer. Left sided colon cancer tend to cause more obstructive problems, often develop from polyps in early stages and tend to become metastatic to lung and liver sites. More information on the differences of right and left colon cancer can be found at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20010352

How much do lung surgeons earn?

I can say now, in 2013, my father has cost $250,000 + dollars. We are still waiting for the bill for surgeons costs. This case he was stage IV colon cancer, left upper lobe. Treated surgical and radiation wise as a stage III lung cancer patient. Chemo provided was for metastatic colon cancer. I cant compare chemo drugs for lung cancer but I know his costs around $11k per session, 12 sessions total. This was done at Brigham & Women's Hospital with staff from Dana Farber. Hopefully this can help anybody, but remember every case is different.

Death from head and neck cancer?

No - still alive obviously but 2nd recent reoccurrence of Head and Throat cancer, tonsil area, jawbone, and left side of face. Very concerned about 'nil' treatment options since I can not undergo surgery nor re-radiation. Currently chemo but not working that great. Trying to do alternative treatment as well. Wondering how long I have since chemo is not a 'cure' for head and throat cancer. And, wondering 'how much chemo can I body take?

What is Widespread bone metastases from prostate cancer?

This is where the cancer has spread to the bones, resulting in a great deal of pain in most cases. This is usually Stage 5. Death is not far off at this point. With chemotherapy, the person may get 18 to 24 more months of life. Without chemo, an 8 to 9 month life expectancy is all that is left.
