All nuts contain fat - almonds included. They aren't as high in fat some foods, but they have enough fat that you should eat them in moderation. A small handful each day is enough to get the benefit of nuts without over doing it.
Parrots are able to eat almonds. In fact, almonds, along with many other types of nuts, are the parrots favorite type of food to snack on. They do prefer the almonds over the other types though.
Squirrels go nuts (no pun intended) over peanuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, pine nuts, etc. If it has a shell for them to have to work on, that's even better. Just not SUPER hard shells like Macadamia nuts. They seem to like working for it, tinkering with it to get them open.
When you get flabby is when you eat just to eat, not for hunger.
In my case yes I can eat almonds only... but kukui nuts were in my maui tanning lotion and it was an absolute disaster im covered in itchy red bumps :(
