How much trouble is it to replace a burnt valve on a 92 Honda Accord LX?

Head will have to be removed. This is a major repair. As long as you have the head off, you need to have all valves ground and/or replaced. If the engine has over 150,000 miles on it, I would do a complete overhaul at the same time. Removing the head is 75% of the work.

How does a side volve engine work?

A flathead engine or sidevalve engine is an internal combustion engine with valves placed in the engine block beside the piston, instead of in thecylinder head, as in an overhead valve engine. The design was common on early engine designs, but has since fallen from use.Source: www.examville.com

What parts do you swap from 97 sl2 engine to a 95 sl2?

The only hard part is the EGR valve assembly. The head on the newer Saturn is slightly different, making it necessary to find a work-around for the EGR valve.

How does an idle control valve work?

The idle control valve works by regulating the idle speed of the engine. The idle speed of the engine is usually controlled by the engine of the computer.

Does a 216 ci valve cover for Chevy work on a 206 engine?

Will a single cam dodge neon engine work in place of a double over head cam dodge neon engine?

With the correct computer, wiring harness, mounts, attachments, etc.

Will old style heads fit your 1993 roadmaster?

NO they will not work. You MUST use a high rail head where the valve cover bolts are in the center of the head. 1988 to 1999 will work.

What does a idle control valve do when engine warm up?

yes they do because to make it work it has to be running

Will a 16 valve cylinder head work on an 8 valve short block?

I'm sorry, the 16 valve head will not work on the 8 valve short block. The piston crowns are cut differently so replacement of pistons would be necessary. It is my understanding though, that it COULD be done if the pistons were replaced. I have never attempted this, but by looking through the parts catalog, it seems that this is feasable.

My car somkes in the morning when you start the engine but stops when its warms up?

This is a common problem with the 323. It is either worn valve guides or valve stems. In either case, you will need to remove the head and have it rebuilt by a professional engine shop. Have them perform a head porsity/leak test as well. If you opt to reapir it plan on spending $600.00 to $700.00 plus 8-10 hours of your labour to re and re the head. Good opportunity to change the timing belt at the same time. Use 5W-30 oil rather than 10W-30 oil once you've done the work. I have over 35,000 km (22,00 miles) on my rebuilt head and the car does not burn oil. Good Luck Malcolm This is a common problem with the 323. It is either worn valve guides or valve stems. Is a head and valve cover gasket the same?

No. But they look similar and are of similar size and shape. The valve cover comes of very easily with minimal tools and isn't very tight. The valve cover only weighs a pound or so. The valve cover gasket goes between it and the engine. The gasket looks like a rectangle with bumps and holes for bolts. The head is the top part of the cylinders including where the valves go, where the spark plugs are. Removing the head takes much more powerful tools and the head can easily weigh 50 pounds on a small engine. Removing the head is much more work but can usually be done by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. The gasket is more complicated with large circles for the cylinders, and medium holes and small holes for bolts.

What does to be head over the heels in work mean?

It refers to people in love, not at work.. thus " Ann is head over heels in love with Peter". Ann is madly in love with Peter.. her head is spinning and she is somersaulting around. "Head over heels" means "not rational." It does not mean "overwhelmed." For that meaning, we might say someone is up to their neck in work, or over their head in it.
