To open the bonnet of a 2009 Ford Mondeo, first, locate the bonnet release lever inside the vehicle, usually found near the driver's side footwell. Pull the lever to release the initial catch. Then, move to the front of the car and find the safety catch under the bonnet, which you can usually access by sliding your hand under the center of the bonnet. Lift the bonnet fully, and secure it with the prop rod if necessary.
open the bonnet
Open the door with your key and pull the bonnet release.
On the bonnet, slide the Ford oval and insert the ignition key into the lock located there
Swivel ford badge on front grill, insert ign. key turn clockwise, then anticlockwise. Bonnet opened
DEALER SAYS PRESS THE LEVER UNDER THE FRONT BADGE ON THE OUTSIDE GRILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM
Behind the badge on the grill twist it around insert key and turn one way to release then the other to open
Flip the badge over on the front, there will be a key hole behind it... ... Stick your ignition key in, and turn it one way, then the other (as described by diagrams on the lock)... Your bonnet will then pop open
On a focus you swivel the actual ford logo on the front of the car to reveal an extra keyhole - put the key in and turn and up it goes! Might be totally different for a mondeo tho. Hope this helps!
took mine to local mechanic who got it to open by pushing the key in real deep towards the rihgt. He then grinded down the latch and now bonnet opens by just turning key to left!!! and it didnt cost much. ingenious.
