you need an analog voltmeter, to take it to a Dodge / Mitsubishi dealer at about a hundred bucks a pop or pick up a datalogger like i did for about 112.00 which you can check and clear codes for as long as you own the car and not play Morse Code with a voltmeter
i went to handheldhalo.com decent product, gets the job done
by putting a turbo engine into it.....non turbo engines were not meant to handle boost especially sohc engines...you can try to supercharge it though...there are many kits out there just for sohc stealth and 3000 gts
No.
It is a 1.6L sohc with about 106HP
yes as long as the engines of both cars were both the same engine. IE: both were SOHC. Or both were DOHC.
It comes stock with a 222 horsepower. Most people believe it had the same engine as all of the dodge stealth's produced but they are wrong. The dodge stealth had 160 horsepower SOHC in their base model and the 3000GT had a 222 horsepower DOHC in their base model. However, in 1997 they started to make SOHC 3000GT's and then they had the same horspower base models.
you just have to look around. local shops and eBay are your best bets. A scrapyard would be another good bet for finding a good engine
3.0 sohc looks small in compartment and transmission sets on left side. 3.0 dohc is much larger and has 2 belts running the cams
The SOHC 2.0 Ford engine is NOT an interference engine
I just purchased a used one off a '96 SOHC for $25.00 + $9.00 S/H look on eBay under eBay Automotive.......Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000. Happy Huntin'.
No, they are not the same.
it is located in the distributor under the metal cap.
Either the 4.0 liter SOHC - V6 engine or the 4.6 liter SOHC - V8 engine
