You dont have to remove the panel! Just take a piece of duct tape and tape the little dust thingys upwards( overlap the tape half inside and half outside) there is only one screw that holds the handle on and you can reach it through the slot. Be careful not to drop it as you remove it( I put rubber cement in the socket let set for a minute and the remove the screw( 10mm hex head I think). Since you will be replacing this once a year at least go to the " HELP" section of the chain auto stores, they carry this part L and R for less than 10 bucks.
